A US judge has ruled that the man accused of killing 10 people in a Colorado supermarket is still mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Ahmed El Aliwi Alissa, 22, allegedly engaged in a shocking spree of violence last year. He shot the police officer at the scene, the grocery store workers, and all customers inside and outside the Boulder shop.
Until now, the Suspect's mental assessment had not been made public. Only court documents indicated that he had been temporarily diagnosed with an unspecified mental health condition that limited his ability to "speak meaningfully with others."
Detectives did not specify the reasons for the suspect's attack or why the King Soopers supermarket was targeted.
The perpetrator, Alissa, lived in a neighboring suburb of the city and had passed the criminal background check required to purchase the Ruger AR-556 gun used in the attack.
